The CEREC Restoration Journey

Getting started with the CEREC restoration process begins with a thorough exam and then preparation of the affected tooth. Using leading-edge imaging technology, we craft a highly accurate 3-D model of your tooth, ensuring your new crown fits your bite perfectly.

The CEREC milling unit in our office then fabricates your custom crown from a ceramic block. This process can take 45 minutes to an hour, after which we bond the restoration to your tooth, and you'll leave us with your beautiful new crown securely in place.

Choosing Lab-Fabricated Crowns

For some patients, a lab-fabricated crown may be a better choice. This traditional process involves preparing the tooth and taking a digital impression used by a dental lab to create your new restoration. In the meantime, we'll place a temporary on the tooth to protect it, then have you return to our office to place the crown on your tooth when it's ready.

With proper care, including diligent oral hygiene and regular dental checkups, a crown can last 15 years or longer.

Throughout the entire procedure Dr. Linty takes time to explain what she is doing, why she’s doing it and answers any questions I had. I received my permanent crowns, and they are perfect.
